Iran - Stand by Me - Andy Jon Bon Jovi Richie Sambora

On June 24, Iranian Superstar Andy Madadian went into an LA recording studio with Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora and American record producers Don Was and John Shanks to record a musical message of worldwide solidarity with the people of Iran.

This version of the old Ben E. King classic is not for sale - it was not meant to be on the Billboard charts or even manufactured as a CD.....it's intended to be downloaded and shared by the Iranian people...to give voice to the sentiment that all people of the world stand together....the handwritten Farsi sign in the video translates to "we are one".

Richie Sambora pled no contest to driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher earlier this year with his daughter in the car -- but he doesn't think that's bad enough to get him on Santa's "naughty" list.

The Rutgers Stadium Guitar Hero

Richie Sambora, eat your heart out.

In the waning minutes of last night's Rutgers blowout over Louisville this kid took to the Jumbotron at the stadium and blew the crowd away with his Guitar Hero-esque performance of Bon Jovi's "Shot Through the Heart." We were all hoping that video of his performance would hit the internet today and it has.
Let me say: This kid is a legend.

Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora have something in common other than his and hers DUIs -- their love for daughter Ava.

The ex-couple (plus Richie's new GF) reunited Saturday night at a hotel in Westlake Village, California to celebrate Ava's 11th b-day -- and though their Denise Richards-riddled split was rough, everything surprisingly looked A-O.K.

Richie Sambora wishes ex-wife Heather Locklear well

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora enjoys an al fresco lunch in Manhattan. Richie was seen attempting to multi task by eating, talking and trying to read his emails in the bright New York sunshine. As he left, a smiling Sambora stopped to chat to videographers, complaining that their concert in the Big Apple that week had had a 10pm curfew. When asked about his ex-wife Heather Locklear, who has recently been in rehab, the rocker wished his former wife well. He wasn't so generous when asked about Denise Richards, just replying with a curt "No" when asked if he was watching her TV show. Sambora briefly dated Richards, his then neighbour, after splitting from Locklear. Saturday July 12 2008.

60 Minutes

"Jon is the leader of this organization. It's defined. That's an advantage," Bon Jovi's lead guitarist Richie Sambora said.

"1985, Rolling Stone Magazine reported that Jon was the only person who was actually on the record contract. And the rest of you were all employees of his," Kroft said.

"That's true," Sambora said.

And Sambora said that it is still true today. "It's the most unique position and the most unique thing in the record business, I think, to date. It shows you even more the solidarity of what this union is about."

Sambora, who has made up for Bon Jovi's absence from the gossip columns with a highly publicized divorce from Heather Locklear and troubles with alcohol, says no one in the band has ever regretted the arrangement.

"Jon, he's the master of all philanthropic endeavors, sports teams, you know, song writing, record production. I mean, the guy is very, very smart man. And then on top of that, best brother a guy could ask for," Sambora said. "Very consistent. Always. I mean, played a big part in helping me out of my deluge over the last year, you know? Kept me up. Kept me working."

The loyalty goes both ways and Bon Jovi has made them rich beyond their wildest dreams. Sambora, Tico Torres and keyboardist Dave Bryan have been together for 26 years now, since the earliest days on the Jersey shore, and they remain among Bon Jovi's closest friends.

"You guys seem to get along pretty well for a rock band," Kroft remarked.

"We speak the same language. We've grown up in the same place. I mean, Jon and David, and I were born by the same baby doctor in the same hospital," Sambora explained.

Richie Sambora -- "It's All About Me"

Apparently, Richie Sambora doesn't have such a big problem with drugs or alcohol that it couldn't be cured by a simple week of detox and therapy! The rocker and the rest of Bon Jovi were performing on "Today" this morning when Matt Lauer asked Richie about his recent Lohanesque trip to treatment, with Sambora revealing, "I did detox." No biggie!

The band rocked the "Today" stage and gave middle-aged women all over America something to brighten their morning. Richie's stay at rehab, er detox, was so brief that most of these fans probably hadn't even heard the news, or that he's busted up with Denise Richards.

From rock group to support group -- and back in a flash!

It’s been a rough stretch of road for Richie Sambora: a divorce last year, a break-up this year, and now a trip to detox last week to deal with his drinking.

“I was just drinking too much, and I needed to get my life back together,” he told TODAY co-host Matt Lauer in the Plaza outside the show’s studios, during a break in an early morning concert Bon Jovi put on for thousands of fans.
