RICHIE SAMBORA - LOCKLEARS LOVE SCENES LEAVE SAMBORA FUMING

Rocker RICHIE SAMBORA has such an intense dislike for seeing his wife HEATHER LOCKLEAR get passionate with other men onscreen, he always storms out of the room.

The couple, who have been married for 10 years, often sit together to view Locklear's acting work, but Sambora refuses to watch when she's having an intimate moment with a co-star.

The actress says, "We got together at the height of MELROSE (PLACE), so he was definitely going, 'Why are you doing this?' I said, 'I've been doing this, you just didn't notice...'

"So he leaves the room (during a passionate scene). He really doesn't like it."

ALL FOR PAUL: LES PAUL 90TH BIRTHDAY SALUTE

Appreciation for Paul

Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, formerly of Woodbridge, shared similar sentiments June 9 upon arriving at the New York Marriott Marquis to honor Paul as part of the Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony.

"He's the reason why we're all here tonight," Sambora told the Press. "Basically, he invented the electric guitar and multitrack recording, so he's the reason we all have a job."

Sambora jammed with the event's house band on a rendition of the Bo Diddley tune "Before You Accuse Me" before Paul graced the stage to accept his award. Paul charmed the audience with quips about Viagra and his pacemaker, and he even cracked a joke after almost taking a fall.

Prior to playing a short blues instrumental with Sambora and the band, Paul talked about today's concert at Carnegie Hall and alluded to appearances by surprise guests.

"I'm just hoping that they will be there," Paul said. "I have my fingers crossed that they're going to show. But the 19th should be a winner."

A lot more Les

The celebration of Paul's 90th birthday doesn't end with today's concert. Throughout the next year, a dozen special-edition Gibson Les Paul guitars will be issued marking the milestone.

On Aug. 30, Capitol/EMI will release "Les Paul & Friends: American Made World Played," Paul's first new album since 1978. Sambora appears on the disc, and so do Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Keith Richards, Buddy Guy and Joe Perry, among other stars.

more articles about Bo Bice

Quick Hits: Kanye West, The Darkness, Our Lady Peace, NIN, Bo Bice, Mya, Depeche Mode, The Rock Boat

American Idol runner-up Bo Bice has inked a deal with 19 Recordings/RCA Records. His first single, "Inside Your Heaven," will be released on June 21, with a b-side cover of "Vehicle," the Ides Of March song that he resurrected on the show. The new version of"Vehicle" features Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi on guitar. Fans can catch Bo on The Today Show on June 20, The View on June 22 and The Tonight Show on July 6.

Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, whose wife Heather Locklear backed the other Idol rocker, Constantine Maroulis, earlier in the season, has collaborated with Bice on "Vehicles," a remake of a 1970 Ides of March hit.

Sambora played guitar on the tune, which Bo performed twice on Idol and recorded for the B-side of his first single, "Inside Your Heaven," due out June 21. The single has already topped Barnes & Noble's online bestseller's list and is currently number two behind Coldplay's new disc, X & Y.

Bice's first single, out Tuesday, is "Inside Your Heaven," a song he performed on the "Idol" finale. Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi plays the guitar track on the B-side, Bice's well-received cover of "Vehicle," the 1971 hit by Berwyn band Ides of March.

His recorded version features Richie Sambora, lead guitarist for Bon Jovi. Both sides of Bice's premier single were produced by Desmond Child.

LOCKLEAR SEMISTALKED SAMBORA

Former MELROSE PLACE star HEATHER LOCKLEAR was so determined to land a date
with her rocker husband RICHIE SAMBORA, she "semistalked" him until they got
together.
The sexy actress, who has been married to the BON JOVI star for 10 years,
admits she worked hard at securing a date with him after admiring him from
afar.
She says, "I semi-stalked (Richie), but I married him in the end, so it's
okay!
"I told my girlfriend to set me up with him. Somehow I heard he would like
me, could like me, who's knows... He never really called back, but finally when
I was in New York he called and he was like, 'Oh hey, I hear you like me!' And
I'm like,
'No, that's not really the way it goes!' "So then my girlfriend said, 'Go out
with him, but don't go to his room.' We tried to get together and it ended up I
went to his room and she called me to see where I was and she goes, 'I can't
believe
you're in his room!'"
And Locklear, who says lots of "making out" occurred on the night,
continues to be impressed with her husband.
She adds, "He's perfectly big! He's sweet, he's funny, but he does what I
want. I think after 10 years he has given up. He's like, 'Whatever makes you
happy.'"

Movie review: 'The Perfect Man'

Then there's Mrs. Richie Sambora. Not sure which Tinseltown genius thought to cast Locklear as a desperate housewife, but putting aside her good looks, which poor Heather can't be blamed for, she does a pretty good job rising above the B-list material, shedding her Heatherness and playing middle class.

'Perfect' pals

On the appeal of bad-boy rockers

Locklear, who was married to Motley Crue's Tommy Lee from 1986 to 1993 before he moved on to future ex-wife Pamela Anderson, has been happily married to Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora since 1994. And Duff, who for months has remained cagey about the nature of her relationship with Good Charlotte lead singer Joel Madden, acknowledges that the two are in fact an item. Plans are being discussed for Duff, 17, and Madden, 26, to "come out" as a couple as co-presenters at the MTV Video Music Awards in Miami on Aug. 28, one month before she turns 18.

Bon Jovi has set September 20 as the release date for their next album, which is still untitled. The album's first single, "Have A Nice Day," will get its world premiere at radio on July 18. The track was produced by John Shanks, Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora. Guitarist Les Paul smiles proudly as he sits in a Manhattan studio and listens to his first new studio recordings since 1978. Set for a late-summer release on Capitol, the as-yet-untitled album is Paul's birthday present to himself: He turns ninety on June 9th. Top 10: Rock Duos

Number 8

Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora
Bon Jovi
If the energetic '80s rock power ballads hadn't cut it, the New Jersey quartet probably could have sailed to the top of the charts thanks to the static in their hair alone. Luckily for the band, singer Jon Bon Jovi's admiration for Elton John and guitarist Richie Sambora's crafty songwriting and vocal talents gave the band an edge most other "hair metal" bands lacked.
After topping the US charts with Slippery When Wet in 1986, the duo continued to exert its melodic -- and capillary -- dominance in the '90s with highly acclaimed albums These Days and Bounce.
Hit singles: "Livin' On a Prayer," "Bad Medicine" and "Always."
The best rock, hard rock and heavy metal duos to have ever walked the Earth...

MUSIC FROM BIG PLINK

Bruce Foster's song "Look Out for #1," co-written with Tom Marolda, was on the soundtrack for the film "Staying Alive" and received a 1983 Grammy nomination for best song in a motion picture. "Trail of Broken Hearts," which he co-wrote with Marolda and Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, was sung by pop diva Cher and included on the soundtrack for the 1990 film "Days of Thunder."
