Seismographs jump as Mountain moves through Lansing

The band’s sound drew heavily not only on Cream, but also on Deep Purple, The Band and the widespread influences of guitar gods like Jimi Hendrix. Its first two releases, “Mountain Climbing” — featuring “Mississippi Queen” — and “Nantucket Sleighride” both went gold.

West himself is regarded as a highly influential guitar player, having played with artists like The Who, The Rolling Stones and Van Halen, and is cited by guitarists such as Eddie Van Halen, Richie Sambora and Billy Corgan as inspiration. In a 2001 interview, West talked about his guitar playing, saying, “I discovered that eight different harmonics can be gotten out of any one note. It’s all in the angle of the right hand.”

Bon Jovi Star Richie Sambora In Legal Battle

SAMBORA CAUGHT UP IN THEME TUNE WRANGLE

BON JOVI star RICHIE SAMBORA is at the centre of new legal battle over a TV theme tune.
The rocker's longtime collaborator THOMAS MARALDA claims he's owed credit and royalties from the theme tune to US showbiz news show THE INSIDER - because he helped Sambora write it.

But, in the credits to the programme, Sambora and LUKE EBBIN are named as the songwriters.

Now, Maralda has filed suit against the show's producers, demanding they pull the theme song until he gets the credit, royalties and court costs.

Sambora was unavailable for comment.

Rock babes rated high

VIBE NEWS
Rock babes rated high

On the rare occasion in the music world, groupies and band-aids turn into girlfriends and sometimes, even prospective wives.
Believe it or not, there really is a natural evolution when it comes to the busty, bleach blond eye-candy hanging on the arms of those tattooed, greasy-haired rockstars.

It takes a special kind of lady to make a womanizing playboy who has a girl in every city settle down. That's why Blender magazine was kind enough to rank the lovely ladies and crown the "Hottest Rock n' Roll Girlfriend" of all time.

Blond bombshells Rachel Hunter (Rod Stewart), Anna Kournikova (Enrique Iglesias), Heather Locklear (Tommy Lee and Richie Sambora) and Cameron Diaz (Justin Timberlake) made the cut.

But topping the list is the most infamous blond of them all — Pamela Anderson.

Perhaps it's because she is indeed the sexiest, or maybe it's because she dated the most rockstars in total. Quality or quantity, you can't argue that the woman who counts Bret Michaels, Kid Rock and Tommy Lee among her ex's is one hot momma.

BOX SET SONG HISTORIES

Below is a breakdown of the when and where the songs from the 100,000,000 BON JOVI FANS CAN'T BE WRONG... box set originated. This is not scripture - it took some work culling this info from the archives (even on the box set DVD vs. the box set booklet you might find contradictions -- the truth is, 20 years of tapes unearthed with less than stellar labelling!):

BOX SET DVD: EASTER EGG DIRECTIONS

BOX SET DVD: EASTER EGG DIRECTIONS

100,000,000 BON JOVI FANS CAN'T BE WRONG included a bonus DVD which, in turn, included five (5) EASTER EGGS of footage. While many fans were able to find the Easter Eggs on their own and share with other fans how to find them, many other fans have still yet to learn the secrets. Therefore, with Easter coming up fast on the calendar, following is a 'map' to the 5 Easter Eggs (sorry, no chocolate involved):

1. RIDE THE SNAKE - On the MAIN MENU put the HIGHLIGHT on the GREEN BONUS PASS. Press the down-arrow on your DVD remote THREE times and the clip will play automatically. The clip is of the band leaving the dressing room and walking towards the stage.

2. LOVE FOR OBIE - During the chapter 'MISS FOURTH OF JULY' Jon talks about running a corporation and the visual clip of Jon getting off the band's plane is the key to accessing the Easter Egg. When the clip of Jon getting off the plane is on your screen, press the ENTER or OK button on your DVD remote. The original clip will play in its entirety with a special message from Richie to Obie.

3. JON MEETS GEORGE MARTIN - From the MAIN MENU, select the GREEN BONUS PASS, then select the BAND MESSAGES pass. Put the highlight on JON's picture and with the arrows on your DVD remote, press the following combinations: DOWN, RIGHT, LEFT, UP, UP, UP. On the third press of the up arro, the initials 'JB' will automatically pop up. Press the ENTER or OK button on your DVD remote at this point to access the footage of Jon Bon Jovi working in a London recording studio with Sir George Martin. Sir George Martin, the Beatles' producer, worked with Jon on The Glory of Gershwin, a George Gerswin tribute album. Jon performed 'How Long Has This Been Going On' featuring Richie Sambora on guitar.

4. SO YOU WANNA BE A ROAD MANAGER? When the previous Easter Egg's initials 'JB' pop up, don't press the Enter or OK button on your DVD remote. INSTEAD, press the ARROWS on your DVD remote in the following combinations to have another bonus clip automatically play: LEFT, LEFT, LEFT, RIGHT, RIGHT, RIGHT. The footage is an outtake from the VH-1 Command The Band contest/program. The two finalists are at the Amsterdam Airport where they meet the band (well, not all of them) for the first time...

5. ASS TECH - From the MAIN MENU, select the GREEN BONUS PASS, then select the PHOTO PASS. Proceed to the last photo in the Photo Gallery by pressing NEXT. On the last photo, put the highlight on BONUS MENU and press the arrow buttons on your DVD remote in the following combination to access the bonus clip automatically: UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT. Richie needs a pillow - this is classic BJTV footage included for those who didn't see it online.

We hope this helps some of you find the small Easter Eggs included on the DVD.

NEWS UPDATE: MARCH 8/9

WHERE IN THE WORLD IS RICHIE SAMBORA?

1) After working on the album in Los Angeles last week, RICHIE SAMBORA hit the Big Apple this week. On Monday March 8th he took part in the COMEDY LOVE CALL at New York City's Beacon Theatre. This was a fundraising comedy performance to raise monies for Autism research and education. It was spearheaded by Robert Smigel, the brilliant comedy writer (a/k/a 'Triumph The Insult Comic Dog'.) Those who attended and participated also included Saturday Night Live's Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph, Horatio Sanz, Rachel Dratch and Amy Poehler as well as Adam Sandler, Conan O'Brien, Lewis Black, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.
2) On Tuesday MARCH 9th, RICHIE is performing as part of the PEOPLE FOR THE AMERICAN WAY's 2005 The SPIRIT OF LIBERTY Gala at New York City's legendary PLAZA HOTEL. The organization is honoring many people (Richie is participating as a friend is being honored.) Richie will be performing, accompanied by Hugh McDonald and Everett Bradley. Other performers slated to perform at the event included Patti Smith and Dave Matthews. This is a high-ticket fundraiser which has been sold out for some time however, celebrity syndicated photo sites (i.e. www.wireimage.com and their international counterparts) have images from the event. Richie, we're quite sure, would like to get home to the LA weather after experiencing the brutal winter storm that hit NYC today.
