NEWS UPDATE: MARCH 8/9

WHERE IN THE WORLD IS RICHIE SAMBORA?

1) After working on the album in Los Angeles last week, RICHIE SAMBORA hit the Big Apple this week. On Monday March 8th he took part in the COMEDY LOVE CALL at New York City's Beacon Theatre. This was a fundraising comedy performance to raise monies for Autism research and education. It was spearheaded by Robert Smigel, the brilliant comedy writer (a/k/a 'Triumph The Insult Comic Dog'.) Those who attended and participated also included Saturday Night Live's Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph, Horatio Sanz, Rachel Dratch and Amy Poehler as well as Adam Sandler, Conan O'Brien, Lewis Black, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.
2) On Tuesday MARCH 9th, RICHIE is performing as part of the PEOPLE FOR THE AMERICAN WAY's 2005 The SPIRIT OF LIBERTY Gala at New York City's legendary PLAZA HOTEL. The organization is honoring many people (Richie is participating as a friend is being honored.) Richie will be performing, accompanied by Hugh McDonald and Everett Bradley. Other performers slated to perform at the event included Patti Smith and Dave Matthews. This is a high-ticket fundraiser which has been sold out for some time however, celebrity syndicated photo sites (i.e. www.wireimage.com and their international counterparts) have images from the event. Richie, we're quite sure, would like to get home to the LA weather after experiencing the brutal winter storm that hit NYC today.

NEWS UPDATE: MARCH 8/9 (Tuesday, March 8, 2005)

THE NEXT BON JOVI ALBUM
Despite erroneous 'announcements' on seemingly reliable websites, there is no release date set for the forthcoming BON JOVI album. As BON JOVI have not determined a release date for the new project, no site, nowhere has any inside line on when this cd will be released. When BON JOVI determines a release date and makes it public, it will be in the NEWS section here on the band's official website: www.bonjovi.com and you will know... it's not like the band will keep it a secret. The same goes for touring information... when there's news from the band, it will be shared by the band. Anything less is not news.

THE INTERNET and PRESS RELEASES
Please don't presume that all press releases are accurate if you don't find them here on www.bonjovi.com to read. Just because a press release it sent to the wire doesn't make it factual. When Bon Jovi make an announcement, a press release is sent out by the band's label in conjunction with the band and their representatives. It is posted here in the www.bonjovi.com news section. When the label puts out an industry press-release that includes Bon Jovi's participation, that news is reiterated on www.bonjovi.com as well. When Bon Jovi participate in an event with a third party and that third party (i.e. Samsung, Target, QVC, NFL... etc...) issues a release, it is done in conjunction with Bon Jovi's representatives and that press release will be copied here on the www.bonjovi.com news section to reinforce the message and announce it to the Bon Jovi fan base. Press releases floating around in cyberspace get picked up by radio and newspapers who regurgitate the information.. which, if not confirmed or legitimate in the press release, just gets spread around further. Please keep this in mind. NEWS is here on the www.bonjovi.com NEWS section.

TIDBITS:
- Everett Bradley who regularly performs with Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora at acoustic events, including charity performances (and on their respective solo engagements) will be performing the National Anthem at the March 20th Philadelphia Soul game...
- The BON JOVI show at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is completely sold out. It sold out in just minutes though we're very pleased with reports on just how many legitimate Bon Jovi fans were able to score tickets to this event. The show will be at 8pm outside the hotel - a special stage and bleacher/GA area is being built so Bon Jovi can perform there. The night prior Coldplay is playing at The Joint... and after the Bon Jovi concert ends, Nine Inch Nails are playing inside at The Joint. Only Bon Jovi will be playing outdoors. Now, we know that fans are disappointed that the show is sold out but... this is an outdoor show, right? And the hotel is on the strip, right? We can't possibly imagine that the band will be playing quietly. We're not saying... we're just saying.
- Be on the lookout for Bon Jovi 'fans' taken to making up fake interviews, fake tour schedules and fake press releases and posting them online in an attempt to fool other fans. These 'hoaxes' unfortunately get more attention than they deserve and confuse Bon Jovi fans which, while that is the intent of the hoaxes and the fools who perpetrate them, is unfair and juvenile. If you want real information, go to the band's official site. Don't believe everything you read online.
- More batches of testimonials are being edited together and will be added to this site over the coming weeks. Keep looking for your testimonial!
- Please - just a reminder to those who frequent the message boards. We ask that you respect one another. Please take time to read the guidelines before posting and take personal responsibility for what you post. Thank you for making www.bonjovi.com a place that all Bon Jovi fans, regardless of age or background, feel welcome visiting.
