Bon Jovi Eyeing Show On Military Base

Sambora recently showed his support for the troops by performing at "Rockin' the Corps," which was taped in the spring at Camp Pendleton and is out now on CD/DVD. Among the other performers were Destiny's Child, Hootie & the Blowfish, Godsmack, Ted Nugent, KISS and Cedric the Entertainer.

"My father-in-law was a U.S. Marine Colonel and he was stationed on the base that we played at," Sambora says. "There were about 68,000 Marines and families. We were raising money because when these kids go away and then come home in a body bag, their family gets $12,000 and they get kicked off the base a month later."

While Sambora says Bon Jovi currently has plans to tour through next summer in support of the Island album "Have a Nice Day," the guitarist is already planning on recording his third solo album sometime next year.

BON JOVI OFFER ROLLING STONES OPENING SLOT

BON JOVI have cheekily offered THE ROLLING STONES a support slot at their concert opening London's brand new Wembley Stadium, after beating the rock veterans to land the gig.
The selection of US band Bon Jovi over the British Stones to be the first group to play the UK's most prestigious stadium on 11 June next year (06) surprised music industry insiders.
But singer JON BON JOVI doesn't mind allowing the SIR MICK JAGGER-fronted veterans support his band at the concert.
He says, "Well, it's booked, but if they really want to open the venue, they can go on before us.
"I think that's a great idea."
Bon Jovi were also the final act to play the historic venue prior to its demolition.

WILDFIRES FORCE BRITNEY OUT OF HOME

New mother BRITNEY SPEARS was forced to evacuate her home on Thursday (29SEP05), as wildfires continue to rage through the hills of Los Angeles.
The TOXIC singer, who gave birth to her son SEAN PRESTON on 14 September (05), fled her sprawling property, along with her husband KEVIN FEDERLINE, as firefighters battled to stamp out the flames and smoke engulfing a large area of the city.
Pop couple JESSICA SIMPSON and NICK LACHEY were also among those who evacuated, as well as HEATHER LOCKLEAR and her husband RICHIE SAMBORA, LISA MARIE PRESLEY and BEAU BRIDGES.
The flames, which are dangerously close to the set of hit TV show 24, have also threatened the homes of such stars as WILL SMITH and his wife JADA PINKETT SMITH, and CHARLIE SHEEN.
Fire crews are currently working at a relentless pace to tame the flames.
In 2003, California wildfires destroyed the ranch used for TV classic LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE.
