Sambora charges

Bon Jovi lead guitarist Richie Sambora could face child endangerment charges after he was arrested on suspicion of drink driving while he had two minors in the car, police said. Sambora, 48, was arrested after an officer noticed his black Hummer weaving in traffic lanes. Police are waiting for Sambora's blood-alcohol levels to come back and will consider charges if he was over the legal limit.

Bon Jovi taking a country detour

denver.jpg

Like any job, being a musician can be boring and repetitive. Even for superstars Jon Bon Jovi and Richie
Sambora.

They won't publicly admit it, but they must have been slightly restless in the arena-rock doldrums to
write a song like the twangy "Who Says You Can't Go Home." The song was the surprise hit from the New Jersey band's 2005 CD "Have a Nice Day." It was a big surprise because the track, a duet with Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles, landed at the No. 1 spot on the country charts.

Rocker's Local Ties Go Beyond a DUI

Bon Jovi lead guitarist and Laguna Beach resident Richie Sambora was arrested late Tuesday for suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Within an hour of his 4 a.m. release, celebrity-gossip Internet sites broke the story of his arrest online. Police Sgt. Jason Kravetz's phone kept ringing Wednesday as he fielded calls from news organizations worldwide.

"Richie has been fighting an alcohol problem for sometime," according to his neighbor and friend Tony Ciabattoni who drove Sambora home early Wednesday.

Richie & Ava Are Just Fine

richieava.jpg

Well it looks like actress Heather Locklear wasn't too mad after her ex-husband Richie Sambora was arrested on DUI charges Tuesday night with their 10 year old daughter Ava, along for the ride.

We spotted father and daughter returning to their home in Laguna Beach, the same town where Richie was busted.

Hopefully Richie has finally learned his lesson and gets his ass back to rehab soon!

Sambora talks about the tour, the album and some tough personal times

In the past year, guitarist Richie Sambora and his band Bon Jovi have hit No. 1 in at least 10 countries with their 10th album, "Lost Highway," and embarked on a world tour with more than $7 million worth of video gear in tow. But the 48-year-old New Jersey native also split with his longtime wife Heather Locklear and underwent a successful stint in rehab.
As Bon Jovi pulls into St. Paul for a two-night stand at the X, here's what Sambora had to say about his recent ups and downs during a conference call with reporters.

They'll be there for us

The only band to ever play five shows at the ACC on a single tour takes us backstage

We make our way to the other side of the stage, where guitarist Richie Sambora is speaking to his guitar tech, Takumi Suetsugu. Sambora plays a chord and the sound powers through the ACC via 155 speakers.

Under the stage, Suetsugu places the guitar on a rack with more than a few others.

Just how many does Sambora travel with?

"Well, let's see, he usually has around 36 with him. I know I just sent eight back to his home and 16 more are coming. He just likes to switch things up, you know to keep things interesting," says Suetsugu, who adds Sambora uses about 10 different guitars a night. Is there anything Sambora is particularly picky about? "Everything," Suetsugu says.

In a hallway just behind the stage, a short distance from where two ice resurfacing machines are blocked in by sound equipment, Sambora is horsing around with members of the crew. The band caught a Chicago Rush-Philadelphia Soul arena football game Sunday – Bon Jovi and Sambora are part owners of the latter team – and the guitarist is demonstrating a mock tackle.

Yesterday was the band's day off, and the plan is to take Sambora – where else? – to guitar stores in town.

"I like everything (guitar-wise), that's my problem," he jokes.

"Well, for you, that's a good problem to have," says a crew member.

Sambora retreats to the ACC team locker rooms, which are being used as dressing rooms and crew offices, and Rew shows us the back of the stage, a semicircle he says can swivel to vertical, creating a surface that can backlight the band and act as a screen for projections.

A Double Date With Bon Jovi

“We want to come to Beaver County,” says Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan. “We still have to prove that we can be No. 1 in Beaver County.”

Whoa, slow your roll there, David.

The nearest Bon Jovi will get to Beaver County is Pittsburgh, where the 25-year-old rock band performs twice in the next two weeks.

Bon Jovi entertains this Wednesday at Mellon Arena, then returns to the Igloo on March 15 for an initially scheduled and virtually sold-out show.

On Feb. 13, bandmates Bryan, Richie Sambora and Tico Torres did a one-hour conference call with reporters to promote the spring leg of Bon Jovi’s Lost Highway Tour. The band was in New York, preparing to leave the next day for Northern Illinois University to rehearse for the first time with their new stage set.

Richie Sambora steaks out Morton's

BON JOVI guitarist Richie Sambora spent an extra night in town after the band's sold-out shows at the Wachovia Center. Sambora and some family members took over one of the boardrooms Tuesday night at Morton's (1411 Walnut), where they had lots of filet mignon and lobster tail combos.
One guest asked Sambora for a photo on his way out, and the gracious guitarist happily posed.
Sambora sightings may come more often now that the guitarist has signed an agreement to buy a condo at Two Liberty Place, as the Inqwaster recently reported.
