Denise Richards Denies Engagement to Richie Sambora

When Denise Richards arrived at LAX on June 8 sporting a ring on her wedding finger, speculation immediately began if she and her boyfriend, Richie Sambora were engaged.

t would seem unlikely given the fact that she is embroiled in a nasty divorce with soon to be ex hubby Charlie Sheen.

Now Denise tells X17Online "I'm not engaged."

The actress was apparently on a visit to the veterinarian with her young daughter in tow and member of the paparazzi or a reporter asked the actress point blank if she was set to get married.

If she is - she's not ready to go public as she repeated she was not engaged.

Reports from last week noted that Denise Richards said that she's tired of the publicity surrounding her relationship with musician Richie Sambora, soon-to-be ex-husband of actress Heather Locklear.

***

"There are always two or three or four sides to every story," she told "Entertainment Tonight" in an interview that aired a week ago.

Richards said that it's not true that she and Locklear were best friends, and that she didn't begin seeing Sambora until after Locklear filed for divorce.

Oh - and she's not engaged.

Gossip writer alleges Justin, Cameron split

According to one Hollywood gossip columnist, Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz are through.

Janet Charlton claims Timberlake, 24, dumped Diaz, 33, his girlfriend for the past three years, because she'd become "too clingy."

"What happened is that Justin is poised to leave on a world tour, and he wants to be free," Charlton wrote on her site -- www.janetcharltonshollywood.com. "Last week he informed Cameron that it's over, just as she was about to leave town to film some movie pickups, and according to insiders 'she is devastated.' " The final blow in the relationship, Charlton writes, was, "A few weeks back, Justin and his buddies took off for a few days in Las Vegas, and Cameron went chasing after him." That'll do it, all right. Nothing cramps a guy's style at a Vegas buffet spread like having the ol' ball and chain tagging along.

Reps for Timberlake and Diaz have not responded to the story, which has raised a few red flags because, A.) No one but Charlton is reporting it, and bust-up rumors of this magnitude tend to get sucked up and passed around like Charlie Sheen yarns at an escort service providers convention; and B.) The story just happened to pop up the same day Charlton debuted her new Web site and could obviously have used some publicity. Then again, there is a certain logic in play here. Who hasn't looked at photos of Timberlake and Diaz and concluded, dude looks like he's got wandering on his mind. We shall see ...

LET'S GO FROM BAD TO WORSE ... Of course, if we want to wade through a far more pungent cauldron of festering love gone bad, we can head straight for the Charlie Sheen/Denise Richards divorce case, and its putrefying corollaries, where some semi-dubious reports came out this week.

First, there's the case of Heather Locklear and David Spade. Locklear, who used to be married to the guy who Richards is now dating (Richie Sambora), had, according to reports, recently ditched Spade, her rebound guy. If so, someone should tell Spade, who, according to Life & Style Weekly magazine, is besotted and wants Locklear to marry him.

"I'm so in love it's ridiculous," Spade reportedly told a "friend." "Never in my life did I think I'd be with someone so gorgeous and successful. She knows I'm going to ask. It's all about timing."

Hmmm ... can anyone imagine Spade actually talking like that? No matter -- we just hope Locklear goes easy on him.

Meanwhile, Sheen's apparently got a new girlfriend, and she just moved in with him. According to IMDb.com and Us Weekly, she's Brooke Mueller, identified as a 28-year-old former actress and real estate agent who has been linked in the past to Owen Wilson and Matthew Perry. According to Us Weekly, Mueller is smitten with Sheen, and her mom, Moira Wolofsky, happily approves. "She told me she's the happiest she's ever been. I'm so thrilled for both of them."

OK, hold it right there. Are they serious with this? Five words no parent wants to hear are, "Your daughter's dating Charlie Sheen." And this lady's "thrilled." They must already be lining up a prenup.

TONY SOPRANO TO THE RESCUE: With eight episodes left to film in "The Soprano's" final season, two key actors, Steven Van Zandt (Silvio Dante) and Tony Sirico (Paulie "Walnuts" Gualtieri) are said to be holding out for more money. According to E! Online and the Hollywood Reporter, the situation's so bad that mob boss Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) is trying to mediate a truce.

Just a handy note of advice here, but if you're involved with an office pool over who gets whacked in the series' final episodes, you might want to keep these two guys in mind.

Anyway, Gandolfini, who makes a reported $1 million an episode, has asked the two actors to meet with him soon so he can negotiate a truce. Van Zandt and Sirico are reportedly demanding $200,000 for each of the last eight episodes, up from the $80,000-$85,000 they make now. Other actors in the series, including Edie Falco, Michael Imperioli, Vincent Curatola have negotiated raises. Still others, including Lorraine Bracco, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Robert Iler, Steven Schirripa and John Ventimiglia, are all without contracts, but are not threatening to walk off the show.

GOING STRAIGHT, SORT OF: Former Village People cop Victor Willis, who copped to having drug issues when he was busted for possession in March in South San Francisco, says "the nightmare of drug abuse is being lifted from my life."

The incarcerated Willis, 54, who is receiving in-custody substance abuse counseling, is preparing for his July 3 pretrial hearing on the drug charges. He said he would ask to be released into a residential drug rehab center. There's been no comment from the San Mateo County prosecutor.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "Today's television news is ridiculous. For the first time in my life I fit." -- Connie Chung, telling TV Guide why she has no regrets over her much-maligned goofy singing on the finale of MSNBC's "Weekends with Maury and Connie."

Heather Denies New Love

They were recently spotted in a Hollywood diner "kissing like a couple of teens". But Heather Locklear has laughed off rumours that she is dating David Spade. Now, some of you may need a bit of background at this point.

Heather recently filed for divorce from her estranged husband, Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora.

And Richie is now dating Denise Richards, who also recently filed for divorce from Charlie Sheen. Got it?

To make it a bit more complicated... Heather and Denise were once really good friends.
Still with us?

Now back to the point... Heather and David were first seen at an after-party for his US TV show, The Showbiz Show.

They've also been spotted enjoying a frolic on Malibu Beach, but a friend has cleared up all the confusion by insisting they were just "goofing off" (that's "having a laugh", to us Brits).

Heather's pal said: "The whole thing was blown out of proportion. They were joking around and hamming it up, and the next thing you know, people are saying they're together."

In other aspects of the love 'rectangle'...

Charlie Sheen has moved in with his moving-on new girlfriend, former actress, Brooke Mueller, who counts Owen Wilson and Matthew Perry as exes.

A source told Us Weekly mag: "Brooke is in love. Charlie is a solid guy and they are very compatible."

And Brooke's folks love Charlie. Her mum, Moira Wolofsky-Fiore, said: "We've never seen Brooke so happy - she told me she's the happiest she's ever been. I'm so thrilled for both of them."
