BON JOVI HAMPDEN
Bon Jovi Hampden, Glasgow June 3 *****NEW Jersey pop-rock outfit Bon Jovi's hair may have been tamed but they proved they were still kings of stadium rock when they thrilled the 45,000 fans who packed out Hampden with a rollercoaster performance.
They opened with Last Man Standing from their current album Have A Nice Day and crammed in hit after hit, including the romantic ballad In These Arms and an inspired Keep The Faith.
Evergreen and charismatic vocalist Jon Bon Jovi bounded about stage with seemingly relentless energy and regularly played up to the massive crowd, even sneaking a kiss from one lucky fan.
The gig lulled somewhat midway, with lacklustre songs such as Who Says You Can't Go Home paling in comparison to more stirring numbers ike It's My Life.
But the atmosphere became electric when Jon started singing fans' favourite Livin' On a Prayer a cappella style. As Richie Sambora's signature voice-box guitar led into the classic anthem, the stadium erupted into a sea of dancing bodies and waving fans, proving to be the highlight of a rather special night.
