Denise, Heather can't be friends anymore

Denise Richards, who has been linked with Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora while in the midst of an ugly divorce fight with husband Charlie Sheen, tells People that she is no longer friends with Heather Locklear, Sambora's estranged wife.

Got that?

"I wish Heather well," Richards says. "Unfortunately, our friendship had to dissolve and I'm sad about that. This (the divorce proceedings) is all hard - it's very painful."

Spade is on Locklear's short list

The monkeys at the zoo are up to their old tricks. Here we go:

PEOPLE: In its "Love, Lies & Betrayal" cover package, People digs deep into the Denise Richards/Heather Locklear/Charlie Sheen/Richie Sambora/David Spade saga, an epic tale the likes of which hasn't been seen in Hollywood since at least March.

What we don't know: Why Locklear, who veers toward rock dudes such as Sambora, a Bon Jovi musician, is now parading on the arm of wormy (though funny) Spade.

Thankfully, People's "The Appeal of David Spade" article on Page 127 fills us in -- just after its requisite sick-but-inspiring-kids feature on Page 123. "It's more of a friendship," says a source close to Spade, adding, "They're the same height, too ..."
