With all the nasty divorce mud being slung between Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen, it would be easy to miss this juicy lil' tidbit: Richards is dating the estranged rocker hubby of her ex-best friend.
That would be one rock 'n' roll stud named Richie Sambora, who plays guitar for Bon Jovi and who is in the process of getting divorced from Heather Locklear. Locklear and Sambora separated earlier this year, and Locklear has since landed in the pasty, thin arms of funnyman David Spade. Yeah, we know, that one's as weird as all heck. But clear your heads and stay with us. Now Richards, according to several reports this week, has been seen snuggling and engaging in advanced osculation with Sambora. According to the New York Daily News, "The two enjoyed romantic moments on Laguna Beach, and after a canoodlefest at cozy Los Angeles eatery Le Cafe, Sambora, 46, and Richards, 35, who arrived in separate cars, left together in one. Yesterday, they were looking cozy on the balcony of Sambora's house in Malibu."
Richards and Locklear have been friends for years, and once shared a smoldering smooch on an episode of "Spin City." Exactly what recent events have done to their friendship remains unseen, but we can only assume (and hope for) the worst sort of catfight to erupt.
