Richie Sambora heads for Hollywood

Bon Jovi man scores movie, hopes to enter Hall Of Fame

Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora is to write the soundtrack for upcoming Hollywood action movie The Tournament.

The film stars Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction, Mission Impossible III) and Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting, The Beach).

As well as "scoring some movies and TV shows" as he put it, Sambora has also been working with Kid Rock and rapper TI.

He also told Billboard about Bon Jovi's plans:

"We've been filming a documentary and are in the process of mixing a live DVD of last year's Lost Highway concert tour. Also, I think we're looking at doing a greatest hits album next year. Jon and I are writing some new songs for it and to just load up for the next Bon Jovi record."

Sambora also admits he's looking ahead to 2009, when Bon Jovi become theoretically eligible for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

"I hope so," he laughs. "Time flies man, but yeah there's talk and rumours. Boy that would be nice. It's something certainly I've been shooting for all my life. I think if you have a career in the music business, you want to get inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and Museum."

Hmm. No-one has obviously told Sambora that the nominees were announced in September 2008.

While fellow guitarists Metallica, Nile Rodgers, Jeff Beck and The Stooges are on the 2009 nominee list for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, Bon Jovi are definitely not included.
