RICHIE SAMBORA - BON JOVI GUITARIST RICHIE SAMBORA FACING DUI CHARGE
Richie Sambora could be charged with child endangerment after being arrested for drunk-driving with his daughter in the car.The Bon Jovi guitarist was pulled over by police on March 25th in Laguna Beach, California, for driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) after police observed his vehicle weaving in traffic.
And as Ava, his ten-year-old daughter with ex-wife Heather Locklear, was in the car, local officers are recommending that Sambora face additional charges.
"We did ask for a misdemeanour child endangerment charge to be filed against him," Sergeant Jason Kravitz told E! News.
"We also recommended they charge him with misdemeanour DUI."
A spokeswoman for the Orange County district attorney's office said the evidence was being reviewed before formal charges were announced at the next scheduled court date.
With Sambora currently touring the US with Bon Jovi, an arraignment in the case has been set for May 7th.
His fate could depend on the height of his blood alcohol level with a prison sentence, a compulsory rehabilitation order or a spell in a child abuser's program possible outcomes in the case.
The March arrest caps a difficult year for Sambora, 48, who entered a rehabilitation facility in June 2007 for an undisclosed problem.
He and actress Denise Richards also split last year after dating for more than 12 months and in the month that his divorce from Locklear was finalised, his father died of lung cancer.
