Has the Rock and Roll Lifestyle Caught Up with Richie Sambora?
Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora checks into rehab.
Following in the footsteps of many fellow celebrities, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora checked into rehab Wednesday for undisclosed reasons. An exceptionally bad year for the guitarist seems to be the reason for his sudden entry into rehab. Sambora, 47, finalized his divorce from wife Heather Locklear in April, the same month his father died of lung cancer. He also recently split from new girlfriend Denise Richards, after almost a year together.
Only a day before entering an undisclosed Los Angeles treatment facility, Sambora taped a performance with his band for the MTV series, Unplugged.
Hopefully Sambora’s rehab stint does not last too long. June 24 marks the beginning of Bon Jovi’s summer tour, and the band’s new album, Lost Highway, comes out June 19.
