ASSORTED BON JOVI NEWS

Happy Monday BON JOVI fans! Check out some news to share in Bon Jovi land:

BON JOVI & MICHAEL STRAHAN
New York Giants legend MICHAEL STRAHAN kicked off his inaugural Charity Golf Tournament with a big private party for all those participating. Last night, Sunday, JULY 9th the kickoff party took place at TAO Restaurant in NYC. With the massive Buddha statue behind them, BON JOVI took the stage. Jon, Richie, Tico, David, Hugh, Bobby and Jeff did a mini-set as a favor to their longtime friend Strahan... (proceeds went to TAKE THE FIELD which repairs outdoor sports facilities in NY schools and STUDENT SPONSOR PARTNERS -- which helps disadvantaged and at-risk youths attend non-public schools and complete a meaningful education with the help of a sponsor.)
The set list was as follows:
GREAT BALLS OF FIRE
YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME
I'LL SLEEP WHEN I'M DEAD
IT'S MY LIFE
WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE
HAVE A NICE DAY
WHO SAYS YOU CAN'T GO HOME
BAD MEDICINE
LIVIN' ON A PRAYER (acoustic)
It was such a small venue the band joked about being able to order drinks from the bar and have them tossed to them onstage! there was also a silent auction and live auction for high-priced items with proceeds going to charity (cars, trips to SuperBowl, vacations, signed sports memorabilita.) The guys all signed a guitar before they went onstage and Michael Strahan took the stage to auction it off (he even got a few windmill moves on it) -- it went home with a lucky person for $25,000!!! All for a good cause.

JON BON JOVI & SAM MOORE
Sam Moore -- of the legendary Sam & Dave, and the original 'SOUL MAN' - is putting out a new album featuring a slew of famous friends helping out. On AUGUST 29th, Rhino Records will be releasing OVERNIGHT SENSATIONAL. The album was produced by "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson (who also played bass on Jon Bon Jovi's solo album BLAZE OF GLORY / YOUNG GUNS II.) It will be Moore's first contemporary solo project, following 2002's "Plenty Good Lovin'," which was originally intended for release in 1970 but was shelved for more than three decades. JON BON JOVI joins SAM MOORE on 'LOOKIN' FOR A LOVE.' Other names you'll recognize who join Sam Moore on the project include: Sting, Wynonna, Bruce Springsteen, Sheila E, Vince Gill, Bekka Bramlett, BeBe Winans, Fantasia, Billy Preston (his last work on keyboard before he passed,) Steve Winwood, Mariah Carey, Travis Tritt, Robert Randolph, Eric Clapton and more. Jon worked on the project in the studio with Randy Jackson and Sam Moore. And, if you SOUL fans recall... it was SAM MOORE who showed up at the first-ever SOUL inaugural game and performed SOUL MAN at halftime with Bobby Bandiera, Jeff Kazee and Obie O'Brien as his backup band! Check out the new CD at the end of the summer!

BON JOVI - GIANTS STADIUM
And just in case you didn't get the memo... BON JOVI are playing three nights at this little venue in Jersey called GIANTS STADIUM. July 18, 19 and 29. So, the fine fine folks at the Meadowlands wanted to make sure everyone knew who was taking over that building this July. Starting this Thursday, JULY 13th, there will be a massive banner hanging from the side of GIANTS STADIUM. WHO SAYS YOU CAN'T GO HOME? It wasn't us! The banner will stay up until the end of July. Now, if you want to check out the banner before you head to the show on the 18th, here's the info. The banner is hanging from the EAST SIDE of the stadium between GATES B and C. If you're in your car, it can be seen from ROUTE 3 Westbound and from ROUTE 120. Bring your camera! See... it might have felt like forever but JULY finally got here! The band's summer run officially kicks off tonite in Florida -- have fun!
