Bon Jovi Rocks Out for Global Cause
On Saturday, JON BON JOVI and RICHIE SAMBORA rocked the Los Angeles Film Festival's presentation of 'An Inconvenient Truth' -- and ET was there to bring you all the action!
Jon and Richie were on hand to help support the film and its timely message that hopes to spark environmental change. "This is an important film," Jon told ET. "This is a wake-up call for the world. It doesn't matter what side of the aisle you're on."
In attendance was former Vice-President AL GORE, who narrates the documentary. The project came about due to Gore's longtime commitment to communicating the need to reverse the effects of global climate change. Al is thrilled with the response the movie has gotten so far.
"I'd hoped the reaction would be positive," he said on Saturday. "But it's been even more than I allowed myself to hope. I'm happy about that, mainly, because it does mean that the message is getting out to more people in a shorter period of time."
Producer LAWRENCE BENDER ('Pulp Fiction,' 'Kill Bill') saw Gore's passionate presentation, which looks at the dire effects of global warming, and helped turn it into the full-scale theatrical piece, 'An Inconvenient Truth,' now in limited release.
The film visually illustrates the effects of global warming, like ice-cap melting, drought and rising sea levels -- as Mr. Gore presents scientific evidence that supports the theory that global warming is already responsible for the current shifts in our climate.
Paramount Classics, which released the film, is donating five-percent of the profits to a new bipartisan climate effort, Alliance for Climate Protection. Their unprecedented donation pledge runs through the entire length of the film's domestic release.
Also on hand for the event were Al's wife, TIPPER GORE, as well as the film's director (and ELISABETH SHUE's hubby) DAVIS GUGGENHEIM.
