Newsmakers | For 50 Cent, computers would be give and take

Rhyming entrepreneur 50 Cent is in negotiations with Apple Computer to develop a line of affordable computers for low-income families, CBS reports.

For Fiddy, the deal is about both the biz and the giving-back-to-the- community thing: "I'm creating a foundation that will be around for a long time, because fame can come and go," he said. "I never got into it for the music. I got into it for the business."

The biz side ain't so bad. The former crack dealer has made $41 mil from similar branding deals, and he's No. 8 on this year's Forbes Celebrity 100 list.

Lording it on stage

• Forget Peter Jackson's films and revel in a musical version of J.R.R Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, which will open June 19 (that's 2007) at London's Theatre Royal. The $23 mil show, which has a cast of 50, will be the most expensive ever staged in London. It will be considerably reworked from its Toronto run last March.

"The scale of the story has demanded ingenious design," producer Kevin Wallace said. "It's on a scale audiences would expect to see in somewhere like Las Vegas."

Ironclad?

• The Hollywood Reporter says comic-book fabulist Jon Favre, the man behind Zathura and Elf, has signed to deliver a film version of Marvel Comics' Vietnam-vet superhero, Iron Man, for a May 2, 2008, release.

Warhol's wig sold

• Think what a great loss the art world would have suffered had Andy Warhol joined the Hair Club for Men. He didn't, and we thank him for that. One of the artist's trademark silver wigs has sold for $10,800 at a Christie's auction in New York. The piece, which even came with three strips of toupee tape, was part of a collection of film items, including a dress that Marilyn Monroe wore in The Misfits that sold for $66,000.

Kidman you not

• The New York Post reports that Nicole Kidman, whose wedding is probably happening as we speak, made sure her pretty-boy-to-be, Keith Urban, signed a prenup. The Oscar winner, who is worth $150 mil, reportedly will give the singer a paltry $600K a year for every year they're together.

Capote's kids

• Capote Oscar-winner Philip Seymour Hoffman and his longtime girlfriend, Mimi O'Donnell, are having their second child together, Us Weekly says.

Lovely Lauren Sanchez from So You Think You Can Dance, who's married to agent Patrick Whitesell, gave birth to a baby boy Thursday.

Locked in love?

• Are David Spade and Heather Locklear really locking lips in this, the post-Richie Sambora era? Smooch sightings have been cited by tabs all week. They deny it.

Richie Sambora, for his part, is pas de deuxing with Denise Richards, who, the L.A. Times says, is trying to sell the house she bought for $4.3 million after she separated from her divorce dance partner, Charlie Sheen. The house is in the Lalaland 'burb Westlake Village, where Denise moved on the advice of her former friend Heather, who lives just down the street. But since Denise stole Heather's ex, Richie, things may have gotten too awkward on Westlake Lane for her.

Paris, Once Engaged To Hilton, Buys $9.2M House

(CBS) BEVERLY HILLS Greek shipping heir Paris Latsis, the former fianc of Hilton hotel heir Paris Hilton, bought a newly-built Beverly Hills home for $9.2 million.

The 26-year-old grandson of Yiannis Latsis was represented by Valerie Fitzgerald and Kathy Villa of Coldwell Banker, Beverly Hills and Stephen Shapiro of Westside Estate Agency, Beverly Hills.

The three-story, five-bedroom, 5 ス bathroom, nearly 7,000-square foot home comes with a courtyard entrance that opens to a staircase made of glass and stainless steel, walls of glass and a bar.

Separately, actress Denise Richards put her 7,400-square foot Westlake Village home up for sale. The six-bedroom house overlooking a golf course is listed at $4.3 million.

Heather Locklear, who lives down the street, introduced Richards to the house, however their friendship soured when Richards took up with Locklear's estranged husband, rocker Richie Sambora.

Richards, 35, paid $4 million for the two-story house which sits on 1.2 acres, complete with a pool, spa, three fireplaces, breakfast area, patio, deck and a minimum four-car garage.

Richards was reported to have demanded part of her former husband's pension from the Screen Actors Guild, $100,000 per month in child and sole custody of the children she had with Charlie Sheen.

Denise Richards Home, Estate of the Day

As we mentioned earlier, this house is involved in the sordid drama of the Charlie Sheen/Denise Richards marriage. Richards bought the home after she first separated from Sheen on the recommendation of her friend Heather Locklear who lives down the street. According to the tabloids, Richards is now dating Locklear's soon-to-be ex, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora. Locklear is allegedly dating David Spade.

Now that we've addressed the rumor mill, let's check out the house. It's located in the gated enclave of the North Ranch Country Club Estates. The home sits on one acre and has seven bedrooms and other details including a theater room, maids living quarters and a family room with a built-in entertainment center. It's in a private part of town and quite a large home but it looks like Richards moved her children's toys in, added a couple of Pottery Barn couches and called it a day. The home is listed at $4.3 million. After the jump, someone didn't tidy up before the photo shoot...
