"Have guitar, will travel" seems to be Richie Sambora's motto lately.

On June 9, Sambora, formerly of Woodbridge, jammed with the legendary Les Paul during the annual National Academy of Popular Music/Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony in New York.

Today, Sambora will join his Bon Jovi band mates for a performance outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art as part of the Live 8 extravaganza.

And on Wednesday evening, Sambora will be in California to back recent "American Idol" runner-up Bo Bice on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," which airs at 11:35 p.m. weeknights on NBC (Channels 4 and 10).

Bice, who finished second to Carrie Underwood in the latest "Idol" competition, is scheduled to perform his version of "Vehicle," which was a No. 2 pop hit in 1970 for The Ides of March. Bice's recording of "Vehicle" (featuring Sambora) was released June 21 as part of a double A-sided single, paired with his take on "Inside Your Heaven" (Underwood's rendition of that tune recently topped Billboard's Hot 100 chart).

Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora will perform Wednesday evening on "The Tonight Show" backing recent "American Idol" contestant Bo Bice.
